THE NORTHERN LIGHTS ON DEMAND /// The Northern Lights experience. Anywhere and anytime. This mesmerising installation brings the experience of the Northern Lights to cities the world over. Time slows down as eyes look up. An aurora, here and now, in our latitudes? “I was interested in finding out what triggers a feeling of awe in people, of experiencing something bigger than themselves and from which would arise a sense of connection. And something that kept coming up was what people [...]

CATALAN CREATIONS /// In collaboration with the Geneva International Book and Press Fair, our creative zone La Fabrique 2019 was Barcelona-themed. The space hosted various artistic and participative events: Writing workshop on paper strips, suspended in the style of the Festas Major de Gràcia, a collaborative mosaic fresco like those of the Park Güell, and, in the Boqueria Market, an assortment of literary workshops with found poetry, comic bubbles to complete and poetry salad. Visitors immersed themselves in the atmosphere of the Catalan capital and explored [...]

Huawei brings the Northern Lights to London to celebrate the launch of the Huawei P30 Pro. Overlooking the iconic Tower of London, The Aurora Borealis was staged to showcase the superior photographic capabilities of the new handset, which allows users to capture incredible detail and colour in even low light. (installation created by Immersive artist Dan Acher)
THE NORTHERN LIGHTS ON DEMAND /// After travelling to Japan and Australia, BOREALIS lit up the Tower of London. On 4th - 6th April, from nightfall, people in the city experienced the magic of the Northern Lights. Time slowed down as eyes looked up ; an aurora, here and now, in our latitudes? Dan Acher's creation is as much a work of art as it is a technological performance. High power laser beams travel through particle clouds to create the illusion. [...]

Borealis - Adelaide Fringe Festival

AUSTRALIA HOSTS THE NORTHERN LIGHTS /// A big success for Dan Acher's installation BOREALIS at the Adelaide Fringe Festival 2018 with over 500 000 visitors. “In the best possible way, there was a lot of the f-word going around the South Australian Museum Adelaide as the installation first came to life. People were in awe and there was this common emotion, like: What IS this?? I was so happy to experience this with the crowd, seeing the wonder, the emotion that was triggered”, says [...]

THE BIG APPLE IN GENEVA /// For the fourth year running, The Geneva International Book and Press Fair invited us to design a creative zone in which everyone can express themselves - and this time it had a distinctly American theme! The entrance to the New York Pavilion was through a bridge, offering a superb view of the Empire State Building and Manhattan's skyline. A typical Greenwich Village street was recreated using scenery worthy of American studios: facades of old houses, a gas pump, barber shop, food market... The New [...]

Little Teachers

TURNING THE TABLES /// The current paradigm is that education should be transmitted from adults to children - a one-way transfer of knowledge. What if we turned the tables and gave children the chance to trade places with teachers? Little Teachers sets up a line of desks and has children sit at them - in the teacher’s spot. Adults are invited to come and sit on the pupil’s bench and learn something new: a few words in a foreign language, [...]
